Still scrolling? Here’s more about me!
I knew from an early age that social work was it for me and I have loved the many years I’ve gotten to do this work!
Whenever I stop to think about how many years I have been working with clients here in the Amherstburg community, it is mind blowing. And because every client is different, some days it feels like I’ve been doing this work for 5 minutes, and other days I really feel the thousands and thousands of client hours I have clocked.
And now I get to do this work in a few different locations.
I still see patients at the Amherstburg Health Centre, working closely with the medical team there to ensure clients have the support for all of their mental health challenges that cause or are a result of their other health struggles.
I continue to have a virtual practice for folks outside of Windsor Essex.
And of course, I see clients here at ‘the good stuff.’ on Monday and Thursday evenings.
Look, it might sound cheesy, but whenever anyone asks me what I like about this work, it’s an easy answer: Getting to see people grow into a better version of themselves is truly incredible.
In my many years I have SEEN A LOT - and I get to bring all of me to my work with my clients.
(Feel free to read more over on my website! https://kuzakcounselling.com/ )
And what’s working with me like?
Each session is different of course, but one thing that underlies every therapy session with me is warmth, connection and feeling like you can FINALLY get everything off your chest.
And of course, because I have been doing this work for more years that I always like to admit, after you’re feeling completely safe, I bring all the tools in my therapy toolkit I’ve built over the years to make sense of it all. We’ll look at your underlying patterns, emotions, thoughts and behaviours to figure you out, together - and, make the changes you know you need.
Through it all? We’ll definitely have a good laugh together. I’m on your side.
And some other trivia for you:
I once crowd surfed to Rob Zombie at a rock festival (yes really, I am a bad ass)
I live with my giant goofy yellow lab Harley who sheds like a sheepdog but we love him anyway
I have two amazing children Jax (26), currently following in my footsteps at the University of Windsor for Social Work and my daughter Addison (13) who is growing up to be a very confident and independent woman
Oh and I can rap the whole Paul Revere song from the Beastie Boys lol
